                               ORDINANCE NO. 10600
                
                
                
                 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHATTANOOGA CITY CODE,
                 PART II, CHAPTER 32, ARTICLE IX, SECTIONS
                 32-167, 32-168, 32-196 AND 32-198, RELATIVE TO
                 ESTABLISHMENT OF STREET NAMES AND NUMBERING.

       	    	 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE:
       	    	 SECTION 1.  That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter
       32, Article IX, Section 32-167 be and hereby is amended by
       deleting the period at the end of that section and substituting
       the following language in lieu thereof:
            	 subject, however, to the prospective application of
                 the Street Numbering and Addressing Policy adopted
                 pursuant to Resolution No. 21472 on July 29, 1997.
           
           
       	    	 SECTION 2.  That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter
       32, Article IX, Section 32-168 be and is hereby amended to delete 

       the period at the end of the third sentence and adding the
       following: 
                 subject, however, to the prospective application of
                 the Street Numbering and Addressing Policy adopted
                 pursuant to Resolution No. 21472 on July 29, 1997.
           
           
       	    	 SECTION 3.  That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter
       32, Article IX, Section 32-196 be and hereby is amended by
       deleting the period at the end of the second sentence and adding
       the following:
            	 and subject to the Street Numbering and Addressing
                 Policy adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 21472.

       		 SECTION 4.  That Chattanooga City Code, Part II, Chapter
       32, Article IX, Section 32-198 be and hereby is amended by adding 

       the following sentence to the end of said Section:
             	 However, any streets crossing the base line (zero
                 grid line) must be assigned a different name as set
                 forth in the Street Numbering and Addressing Policy
                 adopted by Resolution No. 21472.
            
            
      		 SECTION 5.  That this ordinance shall take effect two (2)
      weeks from and after its passage as required by law.
